Step by step
Extract Audio reads the soundtrack of MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and other common videos directly on your device:
- Add the video file.
- Choose the audio format and quality – and, if you like, a time range.
- Extract and download the audio file.
MP3 or WAV?
MP3 is compact and plays everywhere – ideal for music, podcasts and lectures. WAV is uncompressed and keeps the audio exactly as it is in the video, which is the better choice if you plan to edit it further. There are shortcuts for both: Video to MP3 and Video to WAV.
Extract only part of the audio
Set a start and end time to save just one song or one segment. You can also extract everything first and cut it precisely afterwards with Audio Trimmer.
Make the audio file smaller
Long recordings such as lectures can get large. Speech stays clear in mono at a low bitrate, so Compress Audio can shrink a one-hour lecture to a fraction of its size. To change the format later, use the Audio Converter.
Respect copyright
Extracting audio is meant for your own videos and for content you are allowed to use. Music and recordings by other people are usually protected by copyright.
